Kamala Harris stirs Crypto debate over Democrat’s Crypto Policy stance

It has been confirmed that US Vice President Kamala Harris, who is a potential Democratic Party candidate, will not be addressing the Bitcoin Conference 2024. This decision is not unexpected considering the approach the Biden administration has taken towards the industry.

Kamala Harris has not elaborated on why she would not attend the event, but many have taken this as a sign of her strong anti-crypto stance.

Adam Cochran, a partner at Cinneamhain Ventures, expressed disapproval of the crypto community's growing trend of criticizing Democrats, despite signs that they are making efforts to collaborate with the crypto industry.

He believes that this is the prime opportunity for the industry to achieve bipartisanship. Consequently, the industry should seize this moment to collaborate with anyone presenting beneficial crypto policies, irrespective of their political affiliation.

Despite this, a lot of people think it is premature to claim that the Democratic Party has taken any concrete steps to attract crypto voters, particularly following years of strained relationships. Various suggestions have been put forward on the initial actions the party should take, such as pardoning Ross Ulbricht, removing Gary Gensler from office, or dropping all Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) enforcement actions against those in the industry.
